AMR (autonomous mobile robot)

A mobile robot that navigates a facility using onboard sensors and a software map rather than fixed physical guidance. AMRs plan their own routes, localize with lidar or camera-based SLAM, and reroute dynamically around people and obstacles. This distinguishes them from AGVs, which follow predefined guide paths and stop when the path is blocked.
