Payload
The maximum mass a robot can carry at its mechanical interface while meeting its rated performance, including the mass of the end effector and any part being handled. Usable payload falls as the load's center of gravity moves away from the mounting flange, so manufacturers publish payload alongside moment and inertia limits. Specifying payload requires accounting for the heaviest combined tool-plus-part case, not the average one.
